Antalya

Antalia is a town that attracts attention of tourists both by its natural beauty and its historical and cultural richness. Every year landing one after another thousands of planes with tourists aboard  land in the international airport of Antalia. The history of this region starts is Paleolithic era  and goes on until today. The city that is said to be founded in 2 century B.C. by Berhamian king Attalos has ideal swimming beaches starting with Lara beach in the East up to Konyaalti beach in the West. The Waterfools of Manavgat, DUden, Krsunlu, the yachting paradise of Kekova, winter water sport center of Saklikent, Gulluk national park and the ancient mountain town in Termessos, the cave of Karain that a people settlement of the stone age are only some of the sightseeing places of Antalia. One of he most beautiful holiday towns of Mediterranean Sea Kemer is on the west coast of Antalia.

The Kemer carnival that is organized every year in April brings in special atmosphere of this city. Fasilis, a town to the south of Kemer is a historical port town Faselis, the little bays of which are one better than the other, is surrounded by forests. To the South of Faselis the historical town of Olympos is situated. The ruins of the town are covers with greenery. To the North of Olympos 300m above the sea level situates a sacred area called Chirali. Gas that is burst out by the rock here composing with oxygen of air burns. According to the myth burning fire is burst out from the mouth of the monster that killed Likian hero Balerofontes. Finike is a holiday town that is known for its orange gardens. TO the West of Finike the town of Demre whose historical name Myra is situated. Santa Claus who is so much beloved by children used to live here and passed away here too. The church that was built above his grave is now used as a museum. Every year Santa Claus festival is organized in Demre. Kalkan, that is one of the other holiday towns situate on the coast of Antalia, with its beautiful architecture and historical buildings reminds Renascence period in Europe. Not far from Kalkan the longest beach of Turkey as well as Europe Patara beach (22 km.) is situated. To the North of Patara historical capital of Likia Xathos and again one of its holy towns Leton is situated. Moving further to the North the towns of Pinara and Tlos are situated. These towns are worth seeing due to their architectural uniqueness.
